SPOTLIGHT

Pazzo and Bella

Labrador Yin and Yang

Jason and Nicole Bey first met Pazzo and Bella when the pups were just 4 weeks old. “Bella was the cutest little thing in the world. She would trot over and jump in my lap. She started out as a daddy's little girl but changed quickly. Pazzo (originally named Buster) was white as snow with big wrinkles everywhere. We just knew that we had to get them both. Best decision we ever made! Pazzo means crazy in Italian and Bella means beautiful girl- though Pazzo might have been more fitting for Bella!

In this photo, “Pazzo has his typical pose with his sad eyes. We just love when he looks up at us with those beautiful big eyes. Bella typically is pretty wired. She does look quite poised in the photo, which is not that typical.

When asked why they decided to have their portraits done at Sutton Studios, Nicole replied, “not having professional photos of Pazzo and Bella is like not having pictures of your kids in your home. We love them so much and wanted to make sure that they are always with us no matter what. It is nice to look up while at work and see their adorable little faces”.

Jason and Nicole described their experience at Sutton Studios with Pazzo and Bella as “. . .  fantastic! We love the photos. Bella and Pazzo had a ton of fun! They even came back to look at the proofs with us. I think they approved”!

REFLECTION & REFRACTION

David Sutton Migrations

Every day last week, as I drove to Sutton Studios from my home in Deerfield I saw dozens of motorcycles in the northbound lanes of the Edens Expressway. Some riders traveled solo, others in groups of three or more for safety and camaraderie. Every day when I got off the expressway I saw more big bikes– riders having ventured off the expressway into Wilmette and Skokie in search of fuel for their shiny machines and refreshments for themselves.

Like the swallows flocking to Capistrano, the Harley-Davidsons were flocking to Milwaukee all week for the annual anniversary party at the Harley-Davidson factory. The big bikes are a beautiful sight on a hot August day.

When the swallows return to Capistrano, the people there know that Spring is near at hand. Likewise, when I see the Harleys headed to Milwaukee I know I’m seeing a reliable harbinger of Summer’s end.

Though Labor Day weekend may seem a sad time for school aged children and some young adults, here at Sutton Studios it’s an exciting time of year. Here, the end of summer means that the Dog Days Calendar is about to go to press.

Dog Days Cover

The proofs for the 2009 calendar look just gorgeous. We’ll print 5,000 of the calendars this year and donate them to animal shelters and animal welfare agencies all over Chicagoland. These organizations will in turn sell the calendars and keep 100% of the proceeds to help finance their good works.

Keep your eye on the Suttons Studios website and watch your e-mail inbox for the official announcement next month. We’ll tell you when the calendars are ready and where to get them.

COMMUNITY FOCUS

H. Marion Framing to open second store

Jan Marion, owner of H. Marion Framing in Glenview, told us recently that H. Marion will be opening a second store on Oct. 4 in Edens Plaza, a locaton very near Sutton Studios in . This will make it easier for Sutton Studios clients picking up their prints to head right for the framer. David talked to Jan this week about H. Marion's new endeavor:

"Though I'd like to say that we're opening our Wilmette location just to serve YOUR CLIENTS better, that's only partly the case. Yes the economy is down, but our business is strong and we felt that this would be a good time to expand.

"Last summer as you know we added a 2500 s.f. production facility and several state of the art pieces of equipment. None of these expansion moves would have been possible without the addition of Pam Rosenberg to our staff 15 months ago. Pam is a licensed ASID interior designer and she'll be running the Edens Plaza location in addition to her duties as head of our contract sales division. These services focus on Corporate, Hospitality and Healthcare projects. You can read more about that on our new website just launched this September".
